## AAB vs APK

When you [download](https://docs.thunkable.com/settings/manage-your-projects/download/download) an app from Thunkable you receive an email with an **APK file** that you download directly to your Android device.

When you publish an Android app you receive an email with an **AAB file** for you to upload to the Google Play Store.
